We are a PTO eligible race and athletes can earn PTO World Ranking points in our European Championship Middle Distance Triathlon!
Address: OC De Steiger - Waalvest 136, 8930 Menen
There is one central transition zone on the Vauban artificial turf. Both the transition from swimming to cycling and from cycling to running will take place there.
The transition area is only accessible to participants and staff. Cycling is not allowed in the transition area! During the race, the athlete will get on his bike after the mount line (after T1) and before the dismounting line (before T2).
Participants will leave the transition area with their helmet fastened, bib number on their back and chip around their left ankle.
Bicycles will be checked by Technical Officials when entering the transition area. Besides safety, they will also check the specific bicycle regulations.
We have changing rooms and showers on the Vauban under the stands! Please don't leave any of your belongings in there. There's a guarded space for this next to the transition area.
The official water temperature will be measured by the CRO on race day and depending on this (and the weather conditions) the decision will be made if it's allowed to swim and if wetsuits can be used, required or prohibited. The water temperature will be communicated at the race office.
The wetsuit can only be pulled out completely when you reach the bike in the transition area. During the run towards transition the wetsuit can only be put out till hip height.
The bib number can not be worn in the water during the swim portion and stays with the bike in transition area.
Two loops of 45km without drafting, stayering (riding closer than 10m) is not allowed. We hope on your 'fair play' but we have officials on the course to counteract drafting. 10m is the distance between bikes you have to respect. Because the 90km bike ride can be an important part of the race our officials will have a close look.
No personal assistance or supplies are allowed during the bike part!
Be carefully: passage cyclist tunnel (out and back 2x) under the N58! Moderate your speed, don't stay in the aero bars, heads up and keep distance.
The participants leave the transition area with helmet securely fastened, bib number on the back, number on the bike and chip on the left ankle.
The police and signalmen look for your safety. The knowledge of the course before the race starts, is the athlete his responsability. Please check everything in advance!
Three loops of 7km each with a passage along the buildings of our main partner Decospan
When you leave transition for the run you'll have to wear your bib number in the front.
No personal assistance or supplies are allowed during the run part! There will be enough aid stations provided by the organization.
One of the 3 athletes per relay team is suffcient to sign up at the secretariat / race office.
The responsable of the team, who signed up, makes sure that all the team members wear their wrist band to have access to the transition area.
The cyclist will wait for the swimmer in the transition area close to his bike wearing his bib number on his back. He can leave as soon as the swimmer passed him the timing chip. Same here, the timing chip needs to be worn around the left ankle otherwise there will be no time registration.
The transition between cyclist and runner is the same, you pass the timing chip in the transition area close to your spot and at the same time you pass the bib number as well. The bib number most be worn in the front by the runner.
No aid station with supplies
There will be an aid station after the first bike lap. The aid station will be located just after the first passage at the Vauban site.
Available: Drink bottles with isotonic sports drink (BORN) and water. Next to that BORN gels as well.
Just before and just after every aid station there will be a drop zone. You'll HAVE TO throw your empty bottles and gels here. Outside these zones it's not allowed to drop something, littering is prohibited and means immediately disqualified!
Every loop there will be 3 aid stations. Available: water, coca cola and BORN iso and gels.
Post finish we offer: water, cola, BORN recovery zone and more.
Swim: max. 50 minutes
Bike: max. 3 hours and 30 minutes
